IVIKA MEISTER
actor, mime
Ivika Meister strarted performing in street theatre in 1986. She attended the mime and circus skills school Ilg in Zurich, Switzerland, where teaching is based on the principles of Jacques Lecoq.
This was followed by participation in a number of clowning workshops, led by Alfredo Colombiani and Pierre Byland.
In 1993 she worked with Jeannine Gretler to form a clowning duo and simultaneously worked at the Lausanne Opera as acrobat in the production La Belle Hélène under the direction of Jérôme Savary.
A hunger for new experiences took her to the Amsterdam University for Performing Arts (Armsterdamse Theaterhogeschool).

Her studies led Ivika Meister towards the visual theatre based on physical expression. Her work centres around the absurd and the tragicomic, and it was in examining the clownish apsect of her work that she encountered Nikolaus.

In 2000 they co-directed Fleurir, performed by herself and Jeannine Gretler (B).
In 2003 she joined the Compagnie Pré-O-Ccupé and participated to the creation of Les Kunz.
Ivika Meister also works as tutor of physical theatre in France, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
In march 2008 she signed her first play, Cun&Gonde , directed by Christian Lucas, a duo with Pauline Lemaire-Demaret (soud-effects engineer), first performed at Le Samovar (Bagnolet) for the Festival des clowns, des burlesques et des excentriques.
